Signage as Art

When Tanger planned its new outlet center in Nashville, they asked Office to conceptualize a branded installation based on the company’s visual identity system that we developed previously.

Building on the idea of amplifying the “Tanger T” as a core brand element, we envisioned a larger-than-life T sculpture that would evoke a sense of place by artfully celebrating local pride. We collaborated with local Tanger teams to identify what should be represented, and then created illustrations that reflect what makes that area unique — like Nashville’s hot chicken and honky tonk.

A photogenic identifier for the brand, the T has been popping up in Tanger guests’ social media feeds. Beyond Nashville, we’ve also created custom installations for Phoenix and Deer Park, with more on the way.
